New: Literature Radar — Explore & Track

Never Miss a Relevant Paper Again

Literature Radar is the literature-monitoring engine inside PapersGPT for Zotero. Explore finds related research across 7 databases from a topic or the paper you're reading; Track watches your topics and delivers daily or weekly digests of new papers.

🔍 Explore — From One Paper to the Whole Field

Type a topic, or launch Explore with no query and it uses the paper open in your reader as the seed. You get keyword matches and Semantic Scholar recommendations across arXiv, PubMed, Europe PMC, Crossref, bioRxiv, medRxiv and Semantic Scholar in one pass — non-English queries are auto-translated.

📡 Track — Your Topics, Watched Daily or Weekly

Subscribe to a method, a disease, a rival lab or a compound. Track checks your topics on a Daily or Weekly schedule and delivers a digest inside Zotero with a red-dot inbox — new research finds you, not the other way around.

How It Works

1

Install PapersGPT in Zotero

Works with Zotero 7 or later. Download the plugin and open the PapersGPT chat panel.

2

Type a topic and hit Explore

Start from a typed topic or the paper currently open in your reader. Every result comes with title, venue, year, source and link — one click to save into your library.

3

Subscribe with Track

When the results look right, subscribe to the same topic with Track and pick Daily or Weekly. Catch up from the digest view whenever you like.

Private by Design

Your queries go directly from your machine to the source APIs — no monitoring server in between. Nothing runs while Zotero is closed, and your topics never leave your machine.

Literature Radar FAQ

Is Literature Radar free?

Every user gets 5 free Explore runs and 5 free Track runs — no payment, no API key. Explore is included in every paid plan; Track subscriptions (unlimited topics with Daily or Weekly digests) are a Premium or Business feature.

Which databases does Literature Radar search?

Seven sources: arXiv, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, Europe PMC, Crossref, bioRxiv and medRxiv. Queries are routed automatically — biomedical topics hit the biomedical databases, preprint-heavy fields hit arXiv.

Does Literature Radar run when Zotero is closed?

No. Track subscriptions are checked by a scheduler inside your Zotero process — nothing runs on a server while you're away. When you reopen Zotero, due subscriptions run and your digest is ready.
